In its 117 years of history, Tohoku University has greatly contributed to upholding the rule of law within the international society and to the peaceful settlement of disputes.
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor Emeritus Shigeru Oda, who served as a judge of the International Court of Justice for 27 years from 1976 to 2003, the Center for International Law and Policy (CILP) of Tohoku University is holding an international symposium this year.
